Buoyancy Aids

Buoyancy aids are a specialist form of personal flotation device (PFD) to help keep you safe on the water and used for a variety of sports including kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, canoeing and dinghy sailing. They are designed as a flotation aid, rather than a life-saving device, and come in a range of styles and designs for different sports. The two main styles are overhead or front zipper. Our great range of buoyancy jackets includes those suitable for entry level right through to professional instructor use, to suit all budgets and requirements. All our jackets are tested to, and meet, recognised safety standards. Are buoyancy jackets suitable for children? For young children, and for all non-swimmers, then a life jacket is recommended. If you are a family in calm (not too cold) waters, then the adults can consider wearing buoyancy aids and any young children wear life jackets. All our junior jackets have crotch straps for extra safety and to keep the jacket in place once properly adjusted.
